Vonage Appoints Double-Play Exec

Vonage promoted Martin Hakim Din to run its broadband business unit, which will offer a double-play bundle of broadband Internet and voice services.

As senior vice president of Vonage Broadband, Martin will be in charge of efforts to bundle high-speed Internet and voice-over-Internet-protocol phone service for customers.

Earlier this year, Vonage announced a deal with EarthLink to resell WiFi wireless access in the United States. Vonage said it will soon announce other fixed-broadband services that will be bundled with its phone service.

Martin was previously in charge of Vonage’s Technical Regulatory Strategy. He joined the company in 2004 as VP of standards and practices, where he led the company’s 911 deployment and number-porting process. Prior to Vonage, Martin worked at Alcatel and UUNET/MCI.
