Vonage Dials Up Viseon Videophone

Voice-over-Internet-protocol provider Vonage Holdings Corp. is teaming up with broadband-video-telephone vendor Viseon Inc., the two companies announced Thursday.

Vonage’s home and small-business subscribers will be able to make videophone calls anywhere in the world.

The companies said the videophones will be available through Vonage’s Web site (www.vonage.com) and at more than 7,000 retail and electronic-retailing locations nationwide.

“This service will allow Vonage small-business customers to benefit from corporate-quality videoconferencing and will make calls more meaningful when friends, family and relatives can communicate in real-time, whether they are across town or across the country,” Vonage chairman and CEO Jeffrey A. Citron said in a prepared statement.
