Alarm.com Inc. will offer Vonage Holdings Corp. voice-over-Internet-protocol subscribers a phone-line-independent security system, the two companies said Tuesday.
Alarm.com provides Web-enabled wireless security and activity-monitoring technology to residential and commercial customers throughout the United States and Canada.
The company said it will offer Vonage customers a phone-line-independent security system that transmits alarm signals from a customer's home or business wirelessly to a central monitoring station, which can then contact local authorities in the event of an emergency.
“We are pleased to partner with Vonage, the leading provider of VoIP service, to offer its customers a VoIP-compatible security-system solution," Alarm.com CEO Steve Trundle said in a prepared statement.
“Alarm.com's capabilities allow customers to use the Web to monitor and control their homes and businesses remotely and are a great fit with Vonage customers' Internet lifestyles and their broadband phone service,” he added.
