Voice-over-Internet-protocol provider Vonage Holdings Corp. said Friday that it will upgrade all of its “Local Unlimited Plan” subscribers to “Premium Unlimited.”
The upgrade means the company’s customers will pay $24.99 per month for unlimited calling throughout the United States and Canada.
Vonage’s announcement came one day after it lowered the rate for Premium Unlimited from $29.99 per month to $24.99.
“Over the past five months, we've noticed a trend in the industry away from calling certain minutes local and others long distance,” Vonage chairman and CEO Jeffrey A. Citron said in a prepared statement. “In an IP world, distance is irrelevant, so we have changed our calling plans to reflect that.”
