Voom, Cablevision Systems Corp.’s HD-centric direct-broadcast satellite service, has bolstered its sports-programming offerings with the addition of both HD and standard-definition ESPN channels, including ESPN, ESPN HD, ESPN2, ESPN Classic and ESPNews.

Voom also has added The Golf Channel and Fox News Channel to its lineup.

The service’s HD package now numbers more than 35 channels, including Home Box Office HDTV, Cinemax HDTV, Showtime HD, Starz! HD, Playboy HOT HD, The Movie Channel HD, Bravo HD+ and Discovery HD Theater.

Voom also offers 21 commercial-free channels created by Cablevision’s Rainbow Media Holdings Inc., available only on Voom.

And its standard-definition fare is from the likes of Turner Network Television, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, TBS Superstation, Cable News Network, A&E Network and AMC, plus over-the-air digital local-broadcast channels delivered in HD, where available.
