Walter Presents, an SVOD service from the U.K.’s Channel 4 and Global Series Network, has launched in the U.S. for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year.

The streaming service is personally curated by Walter Iuzzolino, who, the company notes, has spent the past two years watching more than 4,000 hours of television as part of the effort to pick the right dramas for Walter Presents.

Ahead of today’s debut, Walter Presents announced in January that it would launch with 34 series from 12 countries, including Brazil, France, Argentina, Germany and the Netherlands, with plans to premiere two new series each month and to host more than 500 hours of premium TV in its first year.

Titles offered early on by Walter Presents include Valkyrien, a Norwegian thriller set in an illegal, underground hospital, and Spin, a series being billed as the French version of House of Cards, and Flight HS13, a series about “lies and betrayal” from the Netherlands that is said to be a mix between Homeland and The Affair.

At launch, the ad-free Walter Presents U.S. version of the service, powered by Brightcove, is offered on Web browsers, for iOS and Android mobile devices, Apple TV and via the Amazon Channels, Amazon’s aggregated SVOD service for Prime subscribers. It will be “coming soon” to Roku devices.

“In a world where we have so much incredible content and so little time to watch it, it makes sense to watch only the very best TV drama,”Iuzzolino said in a statement. “Until now, much of it lay hidden or scattered across the globe but I’ve solved that problem and brought it together in one easy to navigate streaming channel. Here you will find exquisite series that you can watch whenever you want, all of which have been blockbuster hits in their native countries. Dramas of outstanding quality which I’m passionate about and proud to include in our collection.”
