New York -- Warner Bros. will team up with Atlantic
Recording Corp. to provide operators with a promotion for the June pay-per-view debut of
Warner Bros.' You've Got Mail.
The radio promotion, "Win the New York
Experience," will run in top 20 markets and allows subscribers to qualify for a
grand-prize trip to New York, Warner Bros. Domestic Pay TV, Cable and Network Features
vice president of advertising, publicity and promotion Bill Short said.
The trip includes a weekend stay at a luxury hotel, tickets
to a Broadway show, dinner at an exclusive restaurant, a Central Park carriage ride and a
Circle Line cruise.
Each sweepstakes qualifier will win a copy of the You've
Got Mail soundtrack, the studio said.
Warner Bros. will support the promotion with nearly $2
million in media buys. The campaign includes print ads in Time Warner Inc.-owned magazines
People, Time, Sports Illustrated, In Style and Food and
Wine, as well as in its DC Comics.
The studio will also run national ads in such periodicals
as USA Today, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and TheWall Street Journal, as well as ads in local newspapers in each of the 20 markets,
"This promotion seemed like the perfect fit for this
movie," he added. "Atlantic also saw this as a perfect fit, as they were looking
to further promote the ad through radio."
