WE Sets Nielsen Marks With Bridal Programming

WE TV bridal programming played bigger than ever Sunday night.
The sixth season bow of Bridezillas and the sophomore debut of Amazing Wedding Cakes were the most-watched and highest-rating premieres for either series.
The June 7 installment of Bridezillas notched a 0.9 household rating and 1.2 million total viewers at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen Media Research data. The show delivered 377,000 women 18 to 49 and 335,000 women 25 to 54.
As for Amazing Wedding Cakes, it was served before 1.1 million viewers, netting a 0.8 average, according to Nielsen. Those performances were up 50% and 72%, respectively, from the show's debut.
On the demo watch, the show delivered a 74% increase among women 18 to 34 (155,000 from 89,000); a 47% improvement against women 18 to 49 (316,000 from 215,000); and 29% more women 25 to 54 (291,000 from 225,000).
"This success underscores the increasing popularity of WE TV's original wedding programming and our ability to continue to attract new and younger viewers to the network," said WE president and general manager Kim Martin in a statement. "WE TV has the best-known wedding programming on television, and we look forward to continuing to be the go-to television network for all things bridal."
