WE, USA Today Chew the Fat


WE: Women’s Entertainment and USA Today are going on a diet.

As part of a partnership between the Rainbow Media Holdings LLC-owned network and the Gannett Co. Inc.-owned newspaper, six weight-loss-challenge participants will be profiled in USA Today, online at USATODAY.com (www.usatoday.com) and on WE as they try to meet their goals.

The first USA Today article introducing the six participants will coincide with the television premiere, and subsequent articles will focus on the individual participant to be profiled on the show that week, the two parties said.

Eight weekly episodes -- a one-hour premiere introducing the six participants and their respective weight-loss plans, six half-hour episodes profiling each of the participants and a one-hour finale announcing the results -- will begin airing on the network late this spring.
