WebTV Networks cofounder Phil Goldman died Friday at the age of 39, AP reported.
Goldman died at home in Los Altos Hills, Calif. The cause of his death may take several weeks to determine, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County coroner's office told AP.
Goldman had worked at technology firms such as Apple Computer Inc., General Magic and Microsoft Corp.
Last year, Goldman founded Mailblocks Inc., a Los Altos, Calif.-based company that sells a Web-based electronic-mail system to eliminate unwanted e-mail, or spam.
Microsoft bought WebTV in 1997 for $425 million, and it is now called MSN TV.
Goldman is survived by his wife, Susan, and two young children. Funeral services were held Sunday.
