Oakland, Calif. -- The Western Show will move to Los
Angeles for 1999 and 2000, the California Cable Television Association said last Monday.
The CCTA said the move was due to construction at the
Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The 1999 show will run from Dec. 14 to 17. It
had already been reported that the show would move in 1999, but the CCTA said the
expansion of the Anaheim facility will "create a less-than-optimum exhibition
environment," particularly for high-tech vendors.
The CCTA also announced that its theme for this year's
show in Anaheim will be "Cable Clicks!" in reference to the broad range of
technological developments in the industry. This year's Western Show will run from
Dec. 1 to 4.
