The striking Writers Guild of America East has cancelled a large-scale picketing event it had scheduled for Friday at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan.
In an e-mail to members Thursday, the WGA said it was postponing the event, where “hundreds” of pickets were supposed to show up at 11 a.m. Friday.
“We are continuing our schedule of smaller pickets at the late night and talks shows,” the WGA said. “We’ll be back to you soon regarding plans to reschedule a picket at Time Warner Center and/or other locations next week.”
The union, on strike since Nov. 5, this week resumed informal negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers
