White House lawyer Helgi Walker -- who served as cable adviser to former
Federal Communications Commission member Harold Furchtgott-Roth -- has left the
Bush administration to join Wiley, Rein & Fielding LLP, the
communications-law firm headed by former FCC chairman Richard Wiley.

In a statement, the firm said Walker came aboard April 21 to work on
telecommunications litigation.

At the White House, Walker worked for White House counsel Alberto Gonzales on
various matters, including background reviews on potential federal judicial
appointees.

On Furchtgott-Roth's staff, Walker served with Kevin Martin, who worked on
telephone regulation. Martin, who joined then-Gov. George W. Bush's 2000
presidential campaign, returned to the agency in 2001 after Bush nominated him
for a commission seat.
