WICT Announces ‘Accolade’ Winners

The Women in Cable & Telecommunications Foundation named Nickelodeon and MTV Networks kid and family president Cyma Zarghami as its “2006 Woman of the Year,” while Cox Communications vice president and assistant general counsel Robin Sangston is the group’s “Woman to Watch.”

WICT will present Zarghami, Sangston and the other recipients of its 2006 “Accolades” -- the group’s most prestigious awards -- during its 22nd annual gala Nov. 15 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in the nation’s capital.

WE TV will be honored with a “Tribute Accolade” in the documentary/biographical category for Tammy Faye: Death Defying. Lifetime Television will take home the Tribute Accolade for miniseries Human Trafficking in the drama/music/variety category.

The “Forerunner Accolades” -- presented to the best programmer for women in cable and the best operator for women in cable, as determined by the WICT Foundation PAR Initiative -- will be announced the week of Nov. 13.
