Wink Communications Inc. reported a net loss of $8.5 million on revenue of $1
million in second-quarter results released Monday.
The company estimated that third-quarter revenue will land between $1.2
million and $1.6 million with the addition of 500,000 to 700,000
The $8.5 million net loss compares to a net loss of $14.4 million in the
CEO Maggie Wilderotter said the company is focusing on the expansion of
enhanced advertising and sponsorship venues and introducing new reporting
intelligence and application personalization for national clients.
'We also continued to eliminate revenue guarantees with key partners in the
second quarter, resulting in the reduction of an additional $4 million of cash
liabilities in 2002 and 2003,' she said in a prepared statement.
Wink lists $53.6 million in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments
on its balance sheet.
