Winston Cup Coverage Drives FX

FX grabbed its largest audience ever with live coverage of the National
Association for Stock Car Auto Racing Winston Cup Series Virginia 500
Sunday.

The race, airing April 14 from 12:55 p.m. to 5 p.m., delivered 3.4 million
homes on average and some 5.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media
Research data.

Those numbers sped past the 3.1 million homes and 4.8 million viewers who
tuned into the premiere of the network's gritty cop series, The Shield,
the highest original-series debut in basic-cable history.

The Virginia 500 posted a 4.5 household rating, the second-highest in the
network's history behind its coverage of the Michigan 500 June 10, 2001. That
NASCAR event averaged a 4.8 household rating.
