Columbus, Ohio --Coaxial Communications, an MSO
with about 130,000 subscribers in parts of Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky, has appointed
W. Edward Wood as president and CEO.
He replaces Joel S. Rudich, who retired in December after
13 years at the company, relocating with his wife, Phyllis, to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Before joining Coaxial in January, Wood was president of
BDS Management Group, which manages investments in cable, telecommunications and other
industries. Before that he was a partner at Telesis, an international consulting firm
specializing in corporate strategies and economic-policy developments.
Wood also spent several years in Rhode Island state
government, including stints as chief of staff to the governor and director of the
Department of Transportation. He is a former reporter and editor at Associated Press, and
he was a reporter at the Providence Journal.
