World Fishing Network Looks To Hook Up With Viewers

World Fishing Network HD will cast out for viewers tonight with the premiere of new lifestyle show, Hookin' Up.

Starring Mariko Izumi, the daughter of anglers Wayne Izumi and niece of Bob Izumi, Hookin' Up features the young woman in search of the coolest people and hottest places, while also bringing viewers to off-beat fishing locales.

The debut episode tonight at 9 p.m. on World Fishing Network and WFN HD is entitled "Angling in Alberta." Mariko and crew will visit Canada to fish for walleye in Edmonton, cook up a storm in Banff, and meet cowboys and fans at the Calgary Stampede.
On March 2, the network will air "Joe Knows Tampa, wherein fishing icon Joe Mercurio gives Mariko a guided tour around Tampa, including a trip to famous Busch Gardens.
The week after it's "Chicago Sports Fishing," where she goes multisport in the Windy City with National Hockey League Blackhawks players, tailgating with National Football League Bears fans and midnight salmon fishing.
The show's first season is scheduled to encompass 13 installments.
"Mariko is every guy's fishing fantasy: she's smart, sexy, and loves to be out on the water but importantly as the daughter of champion anglers Wayne Izumi and niece of Bob Izumi, Mariko has the credibility to be there," said WFN HD president Mark Rubinstein in a statement. "By being dedicated to fishing 24/7 we are able to expand our schedule to also include non-traditional fishing shows such as Charlie Moore TV and WFN Reel Road Trip with Mark Melnyk to achieve a broader audience and offer anglers a different look at the fishing lifestyle."
