WOW Wins Diversity and Inclusion Award

WOW Internet, Cable & Phone (WideOpenWest), selected as one of “Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” for the sixth time, was honored July 21 with the Overall Elite award for Diversity and Inclusion, top in the category among the 101 Best and Brightest honorees. This is the second elite award for WOW, which received top honors for Shared Communication and Vision in 2013.

The National Association for Business Resources conducts the annual awards program to honor companies that are dedicated to their employees and to best practices in human resources. An independent research firm evaluates entries based on key measures of compensation, benefits and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection and orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work-life balance; community initiatives; and strategic company performance. Winning companies also compete for 12 elite awards.

CEO Steven Cochran said in a release: “At WOW! we have always understood that our employees are our greatest strength, and that a diverse, inclusive workforce is a competitive advantage. We are honored and humbled to be recognized for our commitment to this vital practice and to our employees.” WOW employs more than 350 individuals in the Chicagoland area.
