WUSA Puts Best Foot Forward

The Women's United Soccer Association, the cable-centric distaff pro-soccer
league, has made some changes to the schedule of its showcase events.

The WUSA, which will kick off its third season April 5, is shifting its
championship game to the West Coast. San Diego's Torero Stadium will be home to
Founder's Cup III Aug. 24 at 4 p.m.

The first two Founder's Cups were held at Foxboro Stadium (2001) in New
England and Herndon Stadium in Atlanta (2002).

The league will also move its All-Star Game to midseason from season's end.
The second annual WUSA All-Star Game will be held at SAS Stadium in Cary, N.C.,
June 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Last year's match was held in Portland, Ore., Sept. 21 after the conclusion
of the WUSA's second campaign.

Structured as a single limited-liability company, club operators not only own
their individual teams but hold financial stakes in the league.

The WUSA's investors are Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications Inc., Cox
Enterprises Inc., Comcast Corp., Hendricks Soccer LLC (Discovery Communications
Inc. founder John Hendricks) and Amos Hostetter's Pilot House Soccer
LLC.
