WWE Inks FX Latin America Pact

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. will provide 208 hours of original programming to FX Latin America from 2005-07 under terms of an agreement announced Tuesday.

The network -- which reaches more than 8 million homes in Latin America -- will air WWE Velocity and WWE Experience in Spanish and Portuguese.

“WWE, having been involved in the sports-entertainment business for more than 20 years, is one of the most popular forms of global entertainment today on FX’s screen, and it will contribute to establish stronger brand loyalty with subscribers, affiliates and advertisers in all of Latin America," Fox Latin America Channels vice president of marketing and creative services Emiliano Saccone said in a prepared statement.

WWE senior VP and managing director, international TV group Andrew Whitaker added, “FX understands that WWE's 52 weeks per year of original programming is a proven ratings success, as well as a globally recognized subscription-driver for pay TV channels and platforms around the world.”
