WWE Pins Mediacom to 24/7 Deal

World Wrestling Entertainment wrestled a distribution deal with midsized operator Mediacom Communications for its WWE 24/7 subscription-video-on-demand service.

Mediacom will launch the service -- which features vintage WWE footage -- in July for a suggested retail price of $7.99, according to WWE Enterprises executive vice president Tom Barreca.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, comes on the heels of a similar agreement reached last month with Comcast, which will roll out the service this August to coincide with WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

WWE also has carriage deals with Insight Communications, RCN and Cox Communications, according to Barreca.
