Xtend Networks said it has completed testing of joint Xtend-Arris Group Inc. products that would allow operators to offer dedicated high-bandwidth services to commercial customers.

Xtend said engineers used off-the-shelf Xtend and Arris Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification products using 256 QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) downstream and 64 QAM S-CDMA (synchronous code-division multiple-access) modulation upstream.

Arris used its “C3” cable-modem-termination system and “Touchstone CM450” cable modem, while Xtend used its “Xhub” mode product, “XFR” amplifiers and “XTB” customer-premises-equipment device.
