Yahoo! News Taps CNN.com, ABC News

Yahoo! Inc. (www.yahoo.com) Monday announced video-content agreements with Cable News Network’s CNN.com (www.cnn.com) and ABC News.

Beginning in September, CNN.com will offer daily video clips to Yahoo! News (news.yahoo.com), while ABC News will offer video-on-demand fare.

All of the video will be available free-of-charge to Yahoo! users, and it will be advertising-supported, Yahoo! said.

“The addition of CNN.com and ABC News video to Yahoo! brings two of the world’s most respected and valuable news providers to the Internet’s largest audience,” Yahoo! vice president of content operations Scott Moore said in a prepared statement. “Video content is becoming an increasingly important component of the online-news experience for Yahoo! News users, and these relationships are an important step in expanding the video content on our site.”

CNN News Services executive VP Susan Grant added, “Working with Yahoo! puts CNN.com’s video in front of millions of additional Internet users. This agreement gives us another opportunity to extend our brand and expand CNN’s online audience.”
