Yanks' Clincher Nets YES Its Top 2012 Audience

Oct. 3 Telecast is RSN's Best Since 2010 Season Opener

With New York Yankees clinching the American League East title, YES Network registered its top audience of the year on Oct. 3.

According to Nielsen data, the regional sports network home to the Bronx Bombers averaged 733,000 viewers in the New York DMA for the club’s 14-2 shellacking of the rival Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night. The win, which also gave the Yanks’ the top record in the American League, came hard on the cleats of a dramatic come-from-behind victory the previous night in the penultimate contest of the 2012 regular season that garnered 688,000, which was YES’s top market in 2012.

The Oct. 3 telecast now stands as YES’s most-watched game since 1.085 million in the New York DMA screened the Yanks’ April 4 2010 season opener versus the Bosox.
