YES, Cablevision, MLBAM Ready To Pitch Streaming Yankees Games

As expected, YES Network, Cablevision Systems and MLB Advanced Media are stepping to the plate with in-market broadband coverage of New York Yankees baseball games.

Under the agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, Yankees games on YES will become the first to be streamed live within a regional sports network's market.

The first game scheduled to be streamed to Cablevision customers who subscribe to both its Family Cable (expanded basic) video package and its Optimum Online high-speed Internet service is the Bronx Bombers' July 8 contest against the Minnesota Twins.

The "Yankees on YES" live game streaming over broadband package will be available for a onetime fee of $49.95 for the balance of the 2009 season or $19.95 for any 30-day period.

Any eligible Cablevision customer who purchases the package can watch YES' Yankees telecasts live on his or her computer throughout the entire home broadcasting territory of the New York Yankees, or on laptops or other portable computers using Cablevision's Optimum WiFi wireless Internet service.
The parties will hold a conference call at noon today to provide more details.
