The Brooklyn Nets' beginning at the Barclays Center brought in the most viewers ever for a preseason telecast on YES.
The regional sports network's Oct. 15 coverage of the team's initial contest in the new arena -- a 10-point win over the Washington Wizards -- scored a 1.02 household rating and 76,000 TV homes in the New York DMA, making it the highest-rated and most-watched Nets pre-season telecast ever on YES.
Monday's telecast eclipsed the network’s Oct. 17, 2003 Celtics-Nets pre-season telecast that garnered an average of 58,000 TV households and 0.79 rating.
Last night’s telecast, which went up against ESPN's Monday Night Football and Fox's coverage of Game 2 of the National League Championship, was also the highest-rated non-New York Knicks-Nets telecast on YES in four years: the Jan. 11, 2008: Nets-Celtics regular season game telecast scored at a 1.47 clip in the DMA.
Last season, Nets games -- the franchise's last of 35 years in New Jersey -- averaged a 0.4 rating on YES.
