Yorick Takes USA Post

Media companies have been making some well-publicized Web cutbacks lately.
But USA Cable said Wednesday that it named Michael Yorick to the new position of
vice president, emerging businesses, overseeing USA Interactive Entertainment
Web properties, new interactive-television programming and international
programming services.

Yorick reports to Tim Peterman, USA Cable's chief financial officer. USA
Cable contains the following USA Networks Inc. cable channels: USA Network, Sci
Fi Channel, Trio and Newsworld International.

USA Interactive Entertainment also promoted Craig E. Engler to general
manager at SCIFI.COM from executive producer
and elevated Laura Rubin to general manager at USANetwork.com, TRIOtv.com and NWItv.com from senior marketing manager for USA
Interactive Entertainment. Both came on board in November 1999.

They are responsible for business strategies, production, marketing and
day-to-day operation of their respective properties, and they report to
Yorick.

Yorick said in a statement that he would focus at first on closer aligning
the USA Cable media properties with their USA Interactive Entertainment Web
offshoots. 'This particular collection of assets is perfectly suited for rapid
growth and development through convergence,' he said.

Yorick was European managing director for A&E Television Networks in
London, where he developed joint ventures to establish The History Channel and
Biography brands throughout Europe. He helped to launch localized channels and
other ancillary businesses, and he oversaw those businesses.

Yorick was involved in launching 10 international cable channels, and he has
held positions with Fox Kids UK in London and Time Warner Inc.'s HBO Hungary in
Budapest.
