Englewood, Colo. -- Your Choice TV and Prevue Networks Inc.
are exploring teaming up on a marketing alliance that would promote the digital-television
The two companies are discussing working together in four
areas -- program promotion, trade promotion, advertising and product development --
according to Bob Campbell, Your Choice's vice president of marketing and brand
Your Choice, part of Discovery Communications Inc., offers
time-shifted programming mainly from cable networks including Discovery Channel. Last
week, BET on Jazz joined the roster of networks that are supplying programming to Your
Prevue, owned by United Video Satellite Group, owns
services including The Prevue Channel and Sneak Prevue. Campbell said Your Choice and
Prevue services are big factors in driving consumer desire for digital television and, as
such, they want to work together to promote it.
In related news, Your Choice recently added some
affiliates. It is part of Cox Communications Inc.'s digital launch in New Orleans and
Jones Intercable Inc.'s digital test in Tucson, Ariz. And InterMedia Partners will
include Your Choice in its upcoming digital launches in Nashville, Tenn., and
