Youth Movement at SCTE


The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers said Tuesday that it is accepting nominations for the “2006 Emerging Technologies and Young Engineer Awards.”

The winners will be saluted at the trade group’s Conference on Emerging Technologies Jan. 10-12 in Tampa, Fla.

The Emerging Technologies Awards are sponsored by CED magazine, Multichannel News, C-COR Inc., Cisco Systems Inc. and CommScope Inc. The three awards -- the “IP Innovator Award,” the “Polaris Award” and the “Star of Integrity Award” -- recognize cable telecommunications professionals who have advanced the industry through their commitments and achievements.

The Young Engineer award -- presented by Multichannel News, Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and the SCTE -- will go to one young engineering professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievement or contributions in cable or telecommunications.

The SCTE said nominations are due Friday, Nov. 4.
