Z Living Develops Shows With 3 Ball Entertainment

Z Living, continuing its pivot away from a former yoga-centric approach when it was called Veria Living, signed a development deal with 3 Ball Entertainment, the producer of shows including Bar Rescue and Extreme Weight Loss. Three series will be put into development in a move by general manager Rafe Oller and head of programming Tim Krubsack to add new original programming in the realm of health, wellness and entertainment.

3 Ball Entertainment CEO Todd A. Nelson said in a release: “3 Ball built its brand with projects that extol the joys and optimism of positive transformation; we’re happy to be part of Z Living’s growth and trajectory in this rich and robust arena.”

The first three shows in development are:

The Big Fat Truth: JD Roth, who has execute-produced ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss and NBC’s The Biggest Loser – will go in front of the camera as host and mentor of a show that helps groups of people change their lives and gain the reward of a healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s a church congregation, truckers at a truck stop, nurses at a hospital or cattle farmers on the ranch, each episode features Roth on location, posing challenges to groups of overweight participants, and providing them with the tools to accomplish their goals. Based on Roth’s upcoming book of the same name (Readers Digest, April 12, 2016). Roth and Todd A. Nelson executive produce.

Finding Fido: A dog’s companionship can be one of life’s greatest gifts, with studies proving how pets help people live longer and healthier lives. But how to choose the best type and breed of dog to suit one’s lifestyle and personality? Host Seth Casteel, canine expert, photographer and best-selling author of the "Underwater Dogs" and “Underwater Puppies" books, will help an enthusiastic dog owner-to-be find that perfect companion. Todd A. Nelson, Ross Weintraub and Brant Pinvidic executive produce. Tim Krubsack also serves as executive producer.

Homegrown Wedding: With the costs of weddings soaring, more and more people are choosing their own backyards as the venue for their celebrations. Design experts and event planners will help one budget-conscious couple create the wedding of their dreams. The experts also will transform the home into an ideal harmonious environment for the family’s future. Todd A. Nelson, Ross Weintraub and Brant Pinvidic executive produce.

Z Living recently premiered three new original series: I Beat the Odds, with real-life stories of terrifying diagnoses and deadly diseases cured by seemingly unimaginable, natural treatments and therapies; Dueling Doctors, where two physicians – one who embraces holistic methods and one who practices Western medicine – debate the best treatments for common ailments; and Cook Your Ass Off, an acquired cooking-competition show hosted by celebrity chef Richard Blais.
