The Suite Life of Zack & Cody will return to Disney Channel for a second season, the network said Monday.
The live-action comedy series tracks the antics of twin 12-year-old boys Zack and Cody, whose single mom, Carey, gets a job as headlining singer at an upscale hotel in Boston and, as part of her contract, an upper-floor suite where they now live.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody has been the network’s No. 1-rated series among boys 6-11 (2.9 Nielsen Media Research rating/289,000 households) and tween boys 9-14 (2.6/265,000), as well as No. 2 for girls 6-11 (5.5/510,000) and tween girls 9-14 (4.7/450,000).
“The Suite Life of Zack and Cody became a hit right out of the blocks, perfectly capturing the kid-driven, family-inclusive brand of comedy that has become a hallmark of Disney Channel's success,” executive vice president of original programming and production Gary Marsh said in a prepared statement. “We can't wait to bring back this incredibly talented cast for a second season.”
