The rescheduled “Green Night” at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., saw Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav throw out the first pitch while hundreds of his company’s employees watched.

After the June 4 Major League Baseball game between the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals got rained out, the ballclub rescheduled the “Green Night” festivities until June 11. Discovery’s newest outlet, Planet Green, was the reason Discovery had such a presence: the channel was activated on June 4, replacing the former Discovery Home.

Despite the 90-plus-degree temperatures at gametime, Discovery estimated more than 500 of its employees came to the new ballpark, exchanged last week’s tickets for Monday night’s game and watched the home team lose, 3-2, to the San Francisco Giants.
