TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC:

NOVEMBER 2008 PRIMETIME SCHEDULE

TOP PRIMETIME SHOWS:

LAW & ORDER: CI, TOP CHEF, TOP DESIGN, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA, TIM GUNN'S GUIDE TO STYLE, FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY, INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO

SCHEDULING STRATEGIES:

Bravo announced plans to increase its programming hours by 45%, adding a fourth night of programming on Mondays and introduces a slate of new and returning series to its lineup.

Bravo's third night of original programming on Thursdays is a perfect opportunity to build on the cabler's success programming of docudramas on Tuesdays and competition reality fare on Wednesdays. Bravo continues to thrive and attract viewers that are passionate and can't get enough of five affinity groups: fashion, food, design, beauty and pop culture.

Another strategy that Bravo does is they marathon (repeat airings). Repeats of original programs, reruns of network series, reality shows and movies. And by doing so, this model has allowed them to draw in more viewers without producing a lot of new programming. And this holiday season is no exception when Bravo brought out all the trimmings for a festive holiday with the "Best of Bravo." To celebrate this holiday season, Bravo aired marathons of some of the network's most popular series - a weeklong stunt of marathoning series.

NOVEMBER 2008 MONTHLY PRIMETIME RATINGS ANALYSIS:

The overall primetime average for ratings, share and demos was down slightly this month compared to last month, October.  Overall share and delivery was down -13% and -11%, respectively.  However, Tuesday and Friday nights in particular showed significant growth.  Tuesday was up by +57% share and +48% delivery.  Friday nights averages were up +40% share and +44% delivery.  In addition, Men 18-49 and 25-54 were up considerably overall this month.Share was up +25% and delivery was up +13%.Last month, significant increases were with the female demographics, this month the men were watching!

INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO made a comeback for a couple of weeks on Monday nights in primetime. The actors were Goldie Hawn and Dave Chappelle, which made a very good-lead in for the new original series FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY which premiered on Monday the 3rd.While FIRST CLASS wasn't able to hold onto its lead-in numbers, and it only had two airdates, we won't discount this newbie just yet. We'll keep a watchful eye on this series, and since its about an eccentric go-getter who runs a luxury travel concierge business, it has all the makings of yet another successful Bravo original!

Tuesday nights were stacked with the already ever popular THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA.   This latest docu-drama is a bonafide hit.According to Bravo press it is their highest rated freshman series since QUEER EYE and ATLANTA was the highest rated franchise telecast ever in all demographics- quite an accomplishment! Its ratings momentum continues to grow week after week - and only having a short order commitment, it concluded this month with its finale. But have no fear, season #2 has already been picked up and committed to.

Wednesday nights lead into TOP CHEF season #5 premiered on the 12th.A triple stack of the number one rated food show is back.TOP CHEF served up the competition by scoring the show's highest rated premiere ever for the series. With super sized growth from its last cycle, the fifth season premiere attracted 1.870 million adults 18-49 and 2.695 million total viewers. (Bravo press 11/13/08).In addition, TOP DESIGN season finale bowed out Wednesday, the 5th at 10pm.This final episode rose 13 percent among adults 18-49.

Thursdays nights were a mixed bad of original series.TIM GUNN'S GUIDE TO STYLE which premiered last month was down this month in all key demos.  Friday and Saturday nights was a mix of original series repeats like DATE MY EX, more HOUSEWIVES and movies.Movies overall were down this month for the Channel. And rounding out the month on Sunday nights as usual was LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.  Although slightly down this month, this off-net series remains a staple for the Channel.
