COMPETITION:
For medical programming, there is no other competing cable network. In the eyes of viewers, similar programming is found on TLC, Discovery and A & E.  In fact, many of the same programs are found on Discovery and TLC...not that they are competing with each other so much as "repurposing" or taking them over outright (DR G, JOHN & KATE PLUS 8, MYSTERY DIAGNOSIS are examples running on TLC).  Demographically, though, and not really competitors for programs, but for the audience, it's women's nets like Lifetime, WE and Oxygen.
