TOP PRIMETIME SHOWS
X-PLAY, LOST 2.0, ATTACK OF THE SHOW, COPS, NINJA WARRIOR, FREAKY, HEROES
By airing 2 off-net shows that appeal both to the "gamer' and the male demographic, G4 sets up a promotional vehicle to launch new originals.
G4 is getting more into off-net acquisitions in primetime. With high profile acquisitions like COPS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, LOST and now HEROES gives the Channel a built in audience immediately that they might have not had. These series speaks perfectly to G4's young-male audience and is an excellent complement to the network's programming lineup, which includes content such as Comic-Con coverage, live daily strip ATTACK OF THE SHOW AND and video-game-review series X-PLAY. It also allows the network to use the hit NBC show to expand their brands and promote original programming. G4 is launching a companion show that will air immediately after the new episodes of HEROES dubbed THE POST SHOW, the program will feature interactive elements including polls and chats, as well as interviews with cast and crew and previews of future episodes. This kind of acquisition also shows that they are a serious player for product in the cable/broadcast acquisition marketplace.

Overall Monday-Sunday delivery average was down compared to a year ago October 2007. Although Saturday nights Men 18-49 demos were up +14% and up in all other key demos as well.
OCTOBER 2008 PRIMETIME RATINGS ANALYSIS:
G4's primetime average for ratings, share and delivery Monday-Sunday was up slightly this month compared to September.Thursday nights in particular this month showed significant growth. Overall delivery was up +40%, and Men 18-49 was up +24%.
G4's Monday-Friday primetime programs are half-hour stacks, a mix of acquired and original. For the most part their programming has been pretty consistent week to week with staples like NINJA WARRIORS, X-PLAY and LOST 2.0 this month dominated the primetime schedule. Both X-PLAY and NINJA WARRIOR was down this month, but LOST 2.0 was up +39% in overall delivery. This off-net acquisition was certainly a wise purchase as it continually to saturate the programming line-up and succeed. One programming note to mention that it was unusual for X-PLAY to be down this month, considering they were coveringthe Tokoyo Game Show 2008 which is Asia's biggest gaming show. G4 brought exclusive coverage of this event. Perhaps their on-line component was more popular for this event rather than good old fashioned tv?
COPS 2.0 Monday-Friday schedule was down overall this month as was the regular eps of COPS. COPS was down -9% in overall delivery this month. A couple of eps of FREAKY aired on Friday nights, as well as a 10pm movie. Both shows, down this month, but quite honestly since they were used more as filler programming than anything else, ratings are not a good indicator on future performance. With high profile acquisitions like COPS, HEROES and LOST this creates a built in audience immediately that they might have not had. These series speaks perfectly to G4's young-male audience and is an excellent complement to the network's programming lineup. It also allows the network to use the hit NBC show to expand their brands and promote original programming.
Weekends were more of the same. Stacks of originals, and off-net series and movies. Primarily COPS and LOST dominating the schedule. A pretty consistent schedule overall this month with no specials to report on.
