FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes posted impressive audiences for their respective coverage of the UEFA Champions League semifinals last week continuing season-long trends that have led to significant year-to-year gains.
The action played-out Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 13 with the second-leg of the semifinals that saw Lionel Messi and Barcelona eliminate German powerhouse Bayern Munich, and legendary Italian club Juventus knock out defending champion Real Madrid to advance to the final. On Wednesday (5/13), Juventus qualified for the Champions League final for the first time in 12 years, and the game delivered 704,000 viewers and 479,000 Adults 18-49, making it the second most-watched UEFA Champions League match in FOX Sports 1 history in both metrics. On Tuesday (5/12), Brazilian star Neymar scored two away goals which awarded Barcelona a spot in the final, and that match attracted 530,000 viewers and 348,000 Adults 18-49.
FOX Deportes’ coverage of Bayern Munich/Barcelona was the most-watched program or event that day (5/12) on Spanish-language sports networks with 570,000 viewers, and it is the most-watched UEFA Champions League match on the channel this season.
The 2014-2015 UEFA Champions League audience on FOX Sports 1 season-to-date has increased +40% over last season (355,000 vs. 253,000) and seen a huge boost of +62% in Adults 18-49 (229,000 vs. 141,000).
