LOS ANGELES, CA – BET Networks’ hit original drama "BEING MARY JANE" starring Gabrielle Union captivated audiences drawing in over 2.2 million viewers during its season 3 premiere on Tuesday, October 20. The special two hour premiere (9-11 p.m. ET/PT) generated 1.2 million viewers in the 18-49 demo making it cable’s #1 scripted telecast this season among adults 18-49 on Tuesday nights. In addition, it is also the #1 non-sports telecast on cable among adults 18-49 on its premiere night.
On the digital front, the season 3 premiere of "BEING MARY JANE" was the #1 Most Social Program on Television on October 20 among the new/live non-sports, primetime shows. Tuesday’s premiere garnered a total of 226,000 tweets by 2.2 million unique authors and generated 13.5 million impressions (source: Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings from SocialGuide). Hours ahead of its debut, "BEING MARY JANE" started trending on Facebook at 5:30pm ET, three and a half hours before its premiere at 9 p.m. ET. Buzz about the show also trended #1 on Instagram during its premiere airing.
