NEW YORK-- BuzzFeed News has partnered with video platform Grabyo to deliver its live morning show "AM to DM" which will stream daily on Twitter's live platform with the first show broadcast on Monday Sept 25th.
BuzzFeed News will be using Grabyo Producer to manage the daily show. Producer is a browser-based live production suite, capable of creating TV-quality live broadcasts for social and digital platforms. As a cloud-based platform, Grabyo provides BuzzFeed News with the support and flexibility to create a purpose-built show for a social audience, including the addition of multiple live inputs, pre-recorded video assets, real-time social comments, polls, data and graphics optimized for social viewing.
In addition, the Grabyo platform has been upgraded to support the live show with high-fidelity live stream outputs and a redundant failover set-up across North America and Europe. The upgraded stream capabilities, flexible workflow, and interactive production features in Grabyo Producer, provide a powerful, yet cost-effective alternative to traditional broadcast infrastructure. Producer is built for publishers who are looking for new ways to deliver premium live experiences to digital audiences. The platform enhancements further expand the scope of Grabyo's cloud-based video production offering, following the launch of an automated highlights service earlier this month.
"BuzzFeed News is pleased to partner with Grabyo for the cloud-based production and delivery of 'AM to DM' to Twitter Live. Grabyo's Cloud Producer platform gives us a flexible toolset tuned to our needs for quick and dynamic production that enables us to produce a daily broadcast to Twitter and power our live News Video content on multiple social platforms," says Dan Munger, Video Technology Manager at BuzzFeed.
Grabyo Producer has been used by beIN Sports USA, Major League Soccer, FC Barcelona, The English Football Association and the AELTC Wimbledon to create live broadcasts for Facebook, Periscope and YouTube. This is the first time the platform will deliver a show for Twitter Live. The initiative with BuzzFeed and Twitter provides Grabyo a chance to showcase its robust infrastructure set-up for live streaming, a requirement for the Twitter Live service.
"Grabyo is delighted to be partnering with BuzzFeed News to deliver "AM to DM" for Twitter Live. The need to produce high-quality broadcasts for social platforms has become increasingly important - with Grabyo Producer publishers and broadcasters have the tools required to create digital shows with the production values of television," adds Mike Kelley, President of Americas at Grabyo. "BuzzFeed News will be able to create an inherently social broadcast, focused on an audience that is increasingly less engaged with traditional TV."
"AM to DM" features reporters, editors and special guests who discuss the top stories each day with a key emphasis on real-time conversations taking place across the platform. BuzzFeed News reporters, editors, and special guests take viewers through the day's top stories, bringing headlines from BuzzFeed News reporters all over the world.
