Comcast Business Keeps The Heart of Texas Pumping

HOUSTON –Comcast Business today announced an expansion of its advanced network into the City of Angleton, Texas. With this expansion, city businesses will now have access to Comcast Business’s comprehensive portfolio of advanced communications services.

As the County Seat of Brazoria County, Angleton is a city steeped in history. The city is home to a statue honoring Stephen F. Austin – the ‘Father of Texas’ – and prides itself on focusing on community. Located just 44 miles from Houston and 18 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, visitors have easy access many local attractions and events, including The Brazoria County Fair, Texas’s largest county fair, which is held annually at The Brazoria County Fairgrounds.

“Our network expansion into Angleton is another example of Comcast’s commitment to bringing businesses more options for high-capacity network connectivity that are increasingly the foundation for economic development and business growth,” said John Phillips, vice president of Comcast Business, Houston Region.

The company recently completed phase one of four in the Angleton area and is expected to complete the buildout by year end. The investment of nearly $2 million means more than 700 additional local businesses will have access to bandwidth capacity of up to 100 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) and services specifically designed to help companies of all sizes take advantage of the latest available technology and affordable, competitive choice.

"We're thrilled with Comcast's commitment to our city - it's a very exciting time for Angleton," said Beth Journeay, President & CEO, Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce.  "As we continue to see an increase in visitors, we're also noting business growth. Comcast is a welcome partner to help manage the technology needs of our business community."
