TORONTO (June 17, 2015) –Modern Family and Parenthood? Meet your new neighbours, the Huangs. They’re moving to shomion July 3, and they’re, well, Fresh Off The Boat. Hip hop-loving 12-year-old Eddie Huang and his family party like it’s 1995 as they try to get used to life in suburban Orlando, Florida after leaving their Chinatown home in Washington D.C. It’s all Eddie’s dad’s fault, really. Louis Huang dragged his family to the ‘burbs to pursue his version of the American dream: to open a western-themed restaurant called Cattleman’s Ranch Steakhouse. And Eddie’s mom Jessica and his two brothers, Emery and Evan, aren’t too thrilled about it either. It’s East meets West as seen through the eyes of a first-generation Asian American kid just looking to fit in.

Fresh Off The Boat is a 13-part, half-hour comedy inspired by the memoirs of celebrity chef Eddie Huang. The series is written by Nahnatchka Khan, who also serves as executive producer alongside Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar, with Eddie Huang as producer. The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and distributed by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.
