Discovery Promotes Keith Kazerman to Executive Vice President, Digital Sales, Advanced Advertising and Research

Kazerman to Oversee Sales for All Digital Products Including TV Everywhere GO Apps, Video on Demand, Brand Websites and Social Media

New York, NY – March 18, 2019 – Discovery today announced the promotion of Keith Kazerman to Executive Vice President, Digital Sales, Advanced Advertising and Research, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Jon Steinlauf, Chief U.S. Ad Sales Officer for Discovery, and to whom Kazerman reports.

“Discovery’s ad sales team is continuing to prioritize and drive our digital businesses in 2019 and beyond, and now is the time to have a singular leader spearheading these important initiatives,” said Steinlauf. “With his strong client solutions-based background, as well as his advanced advertising expertise, Keith is well positioned to grow our enhanced advertising and data-driven products, while maintaining our exceptional advertiser service.”

In this newly created role, Kazerman will lead all digital ad sales teams responsible for driving digital revenue efforts across Discovery’s TV Everywhere GO apps and VOD, as well as website and social media platforms. He will continue to oversee Discovery’s enhanced advertising business, research and addressable data-driven products. Lauri Baker, SVP Digital Ad Sales, and Aaron Gallagher, SVP Digital Ad Sales, will report directly to Kazerman under the new structure.

Kazerman most recently served as Group SVP, Research, Data and Engage at Discovery. In this role, he built and oversaw Discovery Engage, the company’s state-of-the-art data management and analytics platform for targeting, optimization and measurement to deliver greater effectiveness and impact for client’s ads. Kazerman also oversaw Discovery’s Ad Sales Marketing and Client Solutions Sales, leading the teams dedicated to branded entertainment partnerships.

Discovery’s GO apps now attract 17M unduplicated visitors each month and provide an unparalleled viewing experience for superfans, with more 50,000 titles available for catching up, binging and live viewing. In 2018, Discovery added HGTV, Food Network, OWN, DIY and Cooking Channel apps to the platform, completing the full portfolio of Discovery U.S. brands on the platform.

Kazerman brings over 20 years of sales experience to his new role. Prior to joining Discovery in 2015, Kazerman spent 10 years at DIRECTV, serving as SVP, National Ad Sales. In this role, he oversaw national ad sales, direct response sales, traffic and operations, pricing and inventory, and product management teams. While at DIRECTV, Keith oversaw groundbreaking interactive sports sponsorships with NFL Sunday Ticket and the introduction of digital ad offerings with DIRECTV Everywhere. He was instrumental in helping the company to lead the industry with the largest national addressable ad platform.

Kazerman holds a B.S. in Business and Economics from Lehigh University. He is based at Discovery’s offices in NYC and lives in Jericho, NY, with his wife and son.
