NEW YORK AND LOS ANGELES – Fuse (www.fuse.tv), a national television network for fast-growing, multicultural and Latino Millennial audience, today announced the renewal of three original series: BIG FREEDIA: QUEEN OF BOUNCE, FLUFFY BREAKS EVEN and TRANSCENDENT. These renewals follow a successful September 30 re-launch of the network which saw ratings and audience growth in its core demos driven by the performance of original programming.
BIG FREEDIA, which recently concluded its fourth season with a special one-hour finale on November 11, continues to be the network’s top original program among its core Adults 18-34 audience. Meanwhile, new series TRANSCENDENT and FLUFFY BREAKS EVEN proved strong additions to the line-up, as Fuse expanded its programming beyond music.
“By partnering with some of the most talented, creative people in television – both in front of and behind the camera – we have developed a line-up that is forming connections with an audience that has proven incredibly hard to reach: multicultural Millennials,” said Lynnette Ramirez, SVP, Original Content for Fuse Media. “Gabriel Iglesias is an extraordinary talent, and one of the most in-demand comic voices in the business; Big Freedia is larger than life and remains the star of the network’s most popular show; and thanks to our partners at World of Wonder, we not only get to keep bringing Freedia to our viewers, but also introduce the world to the stunning cast of our best new series ever among Millennials, Transcendent. We can’t wait to see the newest seasons of these series, and to announce our new programs in development in the coming weeks.”
Following a season four premiere that was the best season premiere in network history among Adults 18-34, Persons 12-34 and Persons 2+, BIG FREEDIA has been picked up for a fifth season to premiere in 2016. Season four was the best rated season for BIG FREEDIA among Adults 18-34 and finished +13 percent higher than season three and +7 percent higher than season two.
Leading out of BIG FREEDIA on Wednesday nights, TRANSCENDENT – the best new series premiere among Adults 18-34 in network history – was also renewed, picked up for a second season to premiere in 2016. It was the second highest-rated first season of any original series ever on Fuse among Adults 18-34, second only to fellow freshman hit FLUFFY BREAKS EVEN. Additionally, TRANSCENDENT ratings increased +55% from Live+SD to Live+3 among Adults 18-34.
On Thursdays, FLUFFY BREAKS EVEN, starring popular comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, followed being the best series premiere in network history among Adults 18-49, Households and Persons 2+, with success across all key demos. It has been picked up for a second season, also premiering in 2016. Additionally, the six-episode inaugural season saw the Live +3 Adults 18-34 ratings nearly double its Live +SD ratings (+80%)
Collectively, these series have driven strong growth, more than doubling the network’s Live +3 ratings among its core Adults 18-34 demo from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., with double-digit ratings increases year-over-year in other key demos.
