Hallmark Channel continues to defy the epidemic audience declines impacting most of the cable industry, with the first three months of 2019 marking the network’s highest-rated and most-watched quarter outside of holiday since its 2001 launch. In addition, Hallmark Channel is outperforming the competition on weekends in Total Day, ranking as the highest-rated and most-watched network across cable in first quarter.
Demand for the network’s content is also evidenced by strong ratings and delivery for the network’s original movie premieres, which represented the top cable programs every Saturday throughout the quarter among households and total viewers.2
“Hallmark continues to thrive in an environment characterized by widespread ratings attrition,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Crown Media Family Networks. “While the industry and media seem to predominantly reward and highlight more ‘edgy’ content, our network’s ongoing success is testament to the fact that viewers crave the kind of positive, celebratory programming that only the Hallmark brand can provide.”
