Matt McGorry, star of the hit series How to Get Away with Murder and Orange Is the New Black, has been named the social media host for this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards®. Through his personal Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts, McGorry will serve as the online face for the awards during the six weeks leading up to the star-studded awards ceremony, which will be simulcast on TNT and TBS Sunday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT). He will begin posting Wednesday, Dec. 10, the day this year's SAG Awards nominations are announced.
As social media host, McGorry will give viewers access to behind-the-scenes moments, including updates on the production, presenters, showroom, set design, seating chart, rehearsals and all that’s happening on the crucial days leading up to the show. He will also be posting from the glamorous red carpet on awards night.

Matt McGorry stars as Asher Millstone in the hit ABC series How to Get Away with Murder, produced by Shonda Rhimes and created by Peter Nowalk. He can also be seen playing the post-military newbie corrections officer John Bennett in the Emmy®-winning Netflix original series Orange is the New Black. Other television appearances include TNT's upcoming drama series Public Morals, the Emmy-nominated crime drama Elementary, The CW's popular series Gossip Girl, the USA series Royal Pains, CBS's Emmy-nominated crime drama Person of Interest and Comedy Central's Onion SportsDome.
McGorry's background in comedy began during college when he was a member of the well-known sketch group Emerson Comedy Workshop. After graduating in 2008, he went on to appear in CollegeHumor.com videos and years of improv performances after graduating from the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade improv theatre program. McGorry attended LaGuardia High School, the "Fame" school, as a drama major.
