Vancouver, B.C. –Incognito Software Systems, a global provider of broadband device provisioning, IP address management, bandwidth monitoring, and service activation solutions, today announced that Quickline AG, the second-largest cable operator in Switzerland, is using Service Activation Center and Auto Configuration Server to accelerate the rollout of new fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services. These services are being delivered as both new fiber build-outs as well as fiber upgrades for existing customers by Broadband Networks, the reseller of Incognito Software Systems for Switzerland, to bring more bandwidth to customers across the country.
With nearly 250,000 television subscribers and more than 120,000 Internet customers, Quickline AG is a full-service provider of IT, telecommunications and multimedia services to residential and business customers. To accommodate the rising number of video streaming subscribers in Switzerland, Quickline is deploying FTTH to bring more bandwidth to its subscribers. In order to facilitate the rollout of new FTTH services to subscribers, however, Quickline needed software that could seamlessly integrate these fiber access technologies with its existing B/OSS systems.
“The real challenge in rolling out new subscriber services is being able to quickly and successfully integrate all of the moving parts involved on the service fulfillment side, beginning from the moment a subscriber orders a new service,” said Remond Krebs, CTO of Quickline AG. “We now have the necessary equipment to physically connect our subscribers to our network, while we are utilizing software from Incognito to seamlessly provision the subscriber equipment from our existing B/OSS systems. This not only helps us extend fiber to current subscribers, but also automates the process of delivering these FTTH services to new markets as well.”
This expansion builds on Quickline’s successful deployment of Incognito Broadband Command Center for its cable provisioning efforts, which the operator has been using since 2012. The addition of Service Activation Center now allows Quickline to centrally manage all FTTH service activations from a single administrative interface, providing an enhanced level of flexibility and control while also expediting time-to-market for new services. When used in tandem with Auto Configuration Server, which lets providers remotely activate and manage services to multiple devices, these three solutions offer a complete integrated solution that automates the fulfillment of FTTH and other services with ease, while also reducing OPEX costs.
“As IPTV, video-on-demand, and over-the-top content continue to skyrocket, FTTH has become appealing to many operators like Quickline who want to increase their bandwidth to deliver enhanced services to their subscribers – but actually rolling out these services is easier said than done,” said Stephane Bourque, president and CEO of Incognito Software Systems. “Our solutions seamlessly integrate with existing B/OSS systems and automate the entire device provisioning and service activation process. This reduces the amount of human intervention involved, thereby decreasing the time required to activate new services to a bare minimum, which is beneficial for both our customers and their subscribers.”
