New York and Los Angeles – Major League Baseball and Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company, announced a new entertainment distribution alliance for the annual World Series film and World Series Collector’s Edition box set. The announcement was made today by Chris Tully, Executive Vice President, Media for Major League Baseball and Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos.
This multi-year alliance makes Shout! Factory the official home entertainment distributor for Major League Baseball in North America. The agreement provides Shout with exclusive home entertainment packaged media (UHD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD) and select digital rights to both the annual World Series film and World Series Collector’s Edition as well as dozens of prime catalog films from Major League Baseball’s library. In celebration of this Fall Classic, Shout! Factory in collaboration with Major League Baseball will release the annual World Series film, which chronicles the 2016 Fall Classic with unique game action footage and exclusive one-on-one interviews with players, coaches and team personnel. The World Series Collector’s Edition box set is a multi-disc collection that contains full game broadcasts with multiple audio options as well as bonus footage of pivotal moments in the Championship season. Both home entertainment releases make the ultimate fan gifts for this holiday season.
“We are excited to reunite with Shout! Factory on the distribution of MLB’s home entertainment releases,” said Tully. “We appreciate their commitment to delivering first class films for our fans’ enjoyment and are eager to re-launch our partnership with this year’s World Series.”
“Having worked closely with MLB on numerous World Series films and specialty Blu-ray™/DVD releases, this is incredibly exciting and important partnership for us. We look forward to presenting baseball fans the 2016 World Series film and the complete collector’s edition box set, featuring a variety of immersive Major League Baseball content for home entertainment,” stated Shout!
