MFM Announces Final Lineup of Sessions and Expert Presenters Slated for its 2019 CFO Summit

Northfield, IL. - February 28, 2019 –The Media Financial Management Association (MFM)today announced the final lineup of sessions and presenters for their 2019 CFO Summit scheduled for March 7-8, 2019 at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The two-day event opens with a keynote address by William A. Strauss, Senior Economist, and Economic Advisor, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, who will provide an Economic Outlook. He will be followed by Davis Hebert, director, and Senior High Yield Analyst, Wells Fargo who will offer the Financial Outlook for Media. 

Additional sessions during the 2019 CFO Summit include:

Managing Through the Unthinkable: A Practical Look at Threat Assessment and Mitigation This panel will address the evolving and rapidly changing areas of potential threats faced by media companies, whether they be hostile acts of employees and/or former employees, extortion demands, or the kidnapping of employees and executives. This panel will dig into the details of crisis management planning while providing insight into how companies can better prepare themselves in the event that the unthinkable should occur. The panel will be moderated by Tim Ehrhart, SVP, Industry Practices, Chubb and includes panelists Chris Arehart, SVP, First Party Product Manager North America Financial Lines, Chubb; Frank Pedrozo,SVP Operations, Ackerman Group; Josh Ackerman, Operations Officer, Ackerman Group; and Wes Odom, President, Ackerman Group.

Leading Change as a CFO - Change is a constant in today’s business world. It is the rule, not the exception. Competitors are always improving, consumers are changing the way that they consume media, top talent is always being recruited, and governments are always tweaking regulations and rules. So how does one lead in an environment that is constantly changing? In his presentation Andrew Miller, author and leading expert in helping organizations accelerate financial and operational growth, will discuss steps you can take to improve your ability and approach to managing change; how to create an organizational mindset around not only managing change, but how to anticipate and embrace it; and how leading change drives innovation and profitability within organizations.

21st Century Employment Law Challenges: Social Media, Protecting Investments in Employees, the #MeToo Movement, and Multi-Generational Workforces- This session, led by Russell Jones, shareholder of Atlanta based Littler, will cover the myriad of evolving issues associated with managing today’s workforce.

What’s Next with Big Data- Consumers are expecting a very specific experience that can best be driven by utilizing the data that is being produced by the digital experiences consumers demand. This session offered by Rich Carlton, president & COO, Data Realty, will review what ‘digital transformation’ is, why media companies should care, the pitfalls they will encounter, and success stories of organizations that have overcome the challenges.
