NCTC’s Winter Educational Conference Kicks Off February 15 in Phoenix

February 10, 2016, Lenexa, KS – The National Cable Television Cooperative kicks off its Winter Educational Conference on Monday in Phoenix, AZ. The annual conference focuses primarily on technology solutions in the cable TV industry and offers nearly 250 small to mid-sized operators from across the country an opportunity to network, collaborate and learn how other NCTC members innovate to stay ahead of the quickly changing industry.

The two-day show, held at the J.W. Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge kicks off with a CTO Roundtable, moderated by Rob McCann of Clearcable Networks. An impressive line-up of some of NCTC’s and CCSA’s (Canadian Cable Systems Alliance) brightest CTOs fill out the panel, including: Rob Bazilewich, Access Communications; Jason Hansen, Conway Corporation; Al Kuolas, Atlantic Broadband; Frank Miller, CenturyLink and Ken Paker with TDS Telecom.

On Monday afternoon, a session looking ahead to 2020 and beyond, highlights opportunities for NCTC members by passionate thought-leaders from some of the world’s most progressive companies. Leaders from Google and TiVo are joined by NCTC member Mark Mihalevich from Suddenlink to provide insight on advanced advertising, the future of the User Interface and opportunities with e-commerce solutions.

Multi-screen applications, DOCSIS 3.1 vs FTTH, business services and the in-home network experience also round out the dynamic agenda packed full with opportunities to start important conversations on how to evolve and succeed in the video and broadband business.

Mark Portney, host of All-American Makers on the Science Channel, will speak at lunch on Tuesday. Mark is an entrepreneur, investor and business advisor, and will offer insights on independent business and assessing the commercial viability of new products and inventions.
