Neil Cavuto Tops CNBC During First Week Back Following Medical Leave Of Absence


FOX Business Network’s (FBN) Neil Cavuto made a triumphant return to the anchor chair on Tuesday, September 6th, scoring his highest rated week ever for CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2PM/ET). Following a medical leave of absence that took him off air for three months, Cavuto saw his ratings rise 28% in total viewers (170,000) and 17% in the key A25-54 demo with (21,000). In addition, his return marked his first weekly win over CNBC, beating Fast Money Halftime Report (12p-1p) for the first time ever in total viewers (181,000 vs CNBC’s with 178,000).

Additionally, Lou Dobbs Tonight (7P/ET) and Varney & Co (9A-12P/ET) both continued their winning streak against CNBC, earning the top spots – #1 and #2 respectively, on business television in total viewers.Coming off his 8th consecutive monthly win over CNBC in August, FBN’s LouDobbs topped CNBC for the week with 236,000 while CNBC delivered 161,000 P2+.  Meanwhile, Varney just scored his first monthly win over CNBC for his three hour program, and last week marked 8 straight weeks in which he beat Squawk on the Street/Squawk Alley (190,000 P2+ vs. CNBC’s 155,000 P2+).
